Welcome to
State Street Church
United Church of Christ
At State Street Church we welcome children of all ages and from all types of families to our worship services. We believe that children are an important part of our church family.
Sunday School
From September through May we offer Sunday School classes for children from pre-school through 8th grade using the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum. Classes support children and families in living Christianity in our culturally and religiously diverse world and help us grow in our relationship with God.
We nurture faith through:
(Seasons of the Spirit web-site www.spiritseasons.com)
Children are encouraged to remain with their families in the worship service until the "Time With Children" when the children are invited to come forward for a special gathering (parents are welcome, too). After the "Time With Children," children are invited to join us at Sunday School (September through May) or remain with their families in the worship service. Children are welcome all year long.
Infants & Toddlers
Infants and toddlers are welcome to stay with their families for the entire service. As an alternative we have a professionally staffed nursery (birth through age 2). You are welcome to bring your child to the nursery prior to the beginning of the service to meet Maryam Darjazi and get settled or you can visit the nursery at any time during the service. The nursery is staffed year round from 9:45 until the worship service is over.
Safety
State Street Church United Church of Christ is committed to creating a safe environment in which young people can learn about and experience church life. Any volunteer who works with minors must first have been associated with the church for at least six months. During Sunday School classes our Christian Education Coordinator or another adult volunteer randomly monitors all classrooms and two adults are present at youth activities at all times.
